Downtown San Diego · Est. 2019
Craft cocktails born from local ingredients, a spirits list that spans the globe, and a room that feels like home — all on San Diego's most walkable block.
Our Story
The Village Tavern opened its doors on 16th Street with a simple conviction: that a great drink should feel like a conversation with a well-read friend — effortless, personal, and memorable.
We source seasonal produce from California farms, partner with small-batch distilleries across the Pacific, and train our team to care about the details. The result is a bar that feels as intentional as it sounds.

The Bar
Every drink on our menu is built from scratch — fresh juices, house-made syrups, and spirits we actually know by name.
Bourbon, smoked maple, Angostura bitters, and a hint of orange zest. Our signature — the reason people drive from North County.
Aged rum, fresh lime, pandan syrup, and a float of tamarind. Bright, complex, and endlessly drinkable on a San Diego evening.
Over 60 labels from California, France, and Japan — selected for the table, not the shelf. Ask our team for a pour that matches your mood.
The Experience
Whether it's a Tuesday after work or a Saturday that starts at eight, we make sure the room matches the occasion.
Jazz, soul, and acoustic sets every Friday and Saturday. No cover, just good sound and a room that listens.
Rent the back room for celebrations, corporate gatherings, or anything that deserves a room of its own.
Monday through Friday, 4 to 7. Half-price drafts, cocktail specials, and small plates that actually fill you up.
No reservations required for the bar. Booths and tables can be held — just give us a call ahead.
